Sports and Education
I love sports...like tennis and football, I mean soccer.
I love physical education and basketball.
The last hour in any school, should be mandatory physical activity period...
I believe in sound minds in healthy bodies...
But,
Violence is NOT sports...and;
Some “sports” should be
banned, like, wrestling and Boxing. Others, like Hockey and North American
Football, should be refined, civilized and domesticated...to eliminate violence
from the game... What is considered “foul” in World football (FIFA-soccer), is
“good” behaviour in North American football...
Getting ready to compete...in "sports"
Also sports based on guns
should be reconsidered and gradually eliminated. Marksmanship alludes to
killing...After all, guns and arrows and spears are essentially tools for
killing. They were invented to kill and not for sports...
Animal cruelty is banned,
human cruelty is banned...So sports based on guns with the pretext of
marksmanship is redundant and do not advocate civilized human relationship.
We do not need to glorify
violence...Violence is not sports...and above all is not proper human
behaviour...
Why glorify it and raise
violence to the level of sports...?
Imagine two groups jumping on
each other in the school caf...Imagine a student slashing
another with a hockey stick in the gym...Imagine two students boxing in
the classroom...Imagine another two wrestling at the school entrance...
Just place these “sports”
behaviour outside the gym and outside the arena or outside the football field
and you will realize how ridiculous they look...
Glorifying violence is not
good behaviour...Raising violence to the level of sports is teaching
uncivilized human, that is animal, behaviour...
The education system and educational
institutions are in contradiction...The educational institutions are not
serving their mission...Universities should not advocate and teach violence.
High schools are entrusted with teenagers. These teens are in there formative years
mentally and physically...They should not be subjugated to absurd ways of
competing with each other...Let them compete in academics...Let them compete in
arts...Let them compete in culinary skills...and gymnastics and tennis and football-soccer...

Also the names of the teams...are
ridiculous.

Who wants to be a shark or a
duck....?
Hurricanes are devastating the
U.S. just now...Devils are things to be avoided- just ask your priest or chaplain...Avalanches have killed many
while climbing Mt. Everest. Flames have burned housed and devoured our forests...Thrasher’s
sound like beating a person ...Coyotes are not domesticated....Lighting is dangerous and you should not be in the open field with active lightning - you
should wait for the rainbow...Like Noah did.

Greed has hijacked human
behaviour... The profit motive has demeaned and devastated our educational system.
Aggressive human behaviour is glorified as sports in order to pave the way for
bellicose adult conduct...
I am sure many of you will disagree
with this position...I am sure many of you will smile and dismiss this locus
of thought as unattainable...I am sure many of your will rebel against the mere idea of non-violent sports...
So be it...After all, human
imagination is contaminated with violence for centuries and human greed and the
profit motive have been paraded as economic theories...Just look back and
remind yourselves about the greed and sale pitches that have polluted Christmas and Easter celebrations...And then,
may be you will see the
absurdity...May be you will contribute to change and may be you will advocate
PEACE ON EARTH...
